ABOUT DANCING FOR A CAUSE HALL COUNTY
Join us this year for DFC 2024 – Gainesville’s Most Important Party! Planning is underway and tables are available by sponsoring a dancer. Individual tickets are not available at this time but check back on this website to see when they will be released. Ten local celebrities will be getting their groove thing on and performing a variety of dance styles that will blow your mind. Each dancer will receive ten hours of instruction and will be ready to perform in front of locally renowned judges and you.
Dancing for a Cause is a collaborative event designed to strengthen community support for three local non-profit agencies serving children and families: Alliance for Literacy, Center Point, and Rape Response.
Alliance for Literacy
The mission of the Alliance is “to increase the literacy rate in our area by promoting education for adults in basic skills, reading, English as a Second Language, and GED preparation, as well as aiding other organizations and individuals in their efforts to promote literacy.” We are committed to breaking the cycle of family illiteracy in our community and believe that the greatest gift you can give a child is a parent who can read!
Center Point
Founded in 1967, Center Point offers family and children counseling, religious education, mentoring, prevention programming and support services. Through the years, the agency’s mission and staff have evolved with a comprehensive team that now includes educators, licensed clinical psychologists, therapists, and social workers. With offices on the Gainesville High campus and in South Hall, Center Point provides support to school counselors at the Gainesville City and Hall County school systems while operating independently as a SACS-accredited academic program.
Rape Response
The mission of Rape Response is to serve as a system of support, advocacy and education, providing services to the community and survivors of sexual assault while safeguarding the dignity of each person served. RR’s Survivor Services program helps to empower individuals who have been impacted by sexual trauma and enables the healing process to begin. Professional trainings and Let’s Talk prevention programming offered by RR help to educate the community on trauma, healthy relationships and boundaries in an effort to prevent future violence and promote a safe and healthy community.
