2019 “Dancing for a Cause” Raised Over $300,000

It was a great night at the sixth annual Dancing for a Cause at the Chattahoochee Country Club in Gainesville — one of our community’s largest and most popular fund-raising events.

The 2019 competition raised over $300,0000 for Center Point and two other community non-profits, Alliance for Literacy and Rape Response.

Nairika Cornett, executive director of the Quinlan Visual Arts Center, won the Mirror Ball trophy with professional dance partner Derrick Smith. Gainesville native Jennifer Pirkle took honors as the Community Star with her dance partner Joseph Barron.

Our other stars of the night were celebrity dancers Michael Reins, John Darden, Tim Hepburn, Scott LeFevre, Rena Millwood, Beverly Nordholz, Brad Puryear and Tyra Wimpye.

Thanks to all our celebrity dancers and everyone who supported the event on behalf of three worthy causes in our community.

Congratulations to our 2019 Mirror Ball winner, Nairika Cornett, and dance partner Derrick Smith
